18. If, during a race, a car leaves the track without interfering with its opponent, it shall be considered to have ended its heat at that point.

19. If a car leaves its lane, at his sole discretion, the track chairman may inspect the track and, if a track fault is found which probably caused the initial violation, the track chairman may order the race to be rerun after the track is repaired.

20. If, during a race, a car leaves its lane and, in so doing, interferes with another racer, then the car at fault shall be declared to have lost the race heat.

Each car must pass inspection by the official inspection committee before it will be allowed to compete. The Inspection Committee has the responsibility to disqualify those cars that do not meet these specifications.

STAY INFORMED
Please remember that this Pack blog is the number one source of information for our Pack.  Please check it frequently.  Internet access is available to all, free of charge, at public libraries.  We have two calendars - the live calendar on the blog (see the "CALENDAR" link at the top of the blog) and the paper (.pdf) calendar.  Please note that the live calendar is the most current calendar as it time consuming to update the paper calendar and upload it to the server.

We have received a few questions regarding the Pack e-mails.  Ms. Renee, the Webelos leader, sends them out on behalf of ALL leaders in the Pack.  E-mails are sent out after all leaders have discussed, either in person, or via e-mails between them, the information that gets sent out.  Most will be reminder e-mails of information that has already been disseminated to the Pack.  The e-mails are sent as a courtesy as our Pack's number one source of information is this blog.

PINEWOOD DERBY
The Pinewood Derby is at the end of January.  Christmas break is a great time to help your Cub Scout carve his Derby car.  Please use the official derby car kit that can be purchased in local shops where Cub Scout supplies are sold.

THANK YOU to our VOLUNTEERS
We want to thank our volunteers for all the hard work that they do to make this Pack go.  Every adult who works with your child donates both their own time and financial resources to make sure your boys have a fun time learning together as a Pack.  It takes a lot of time and energy behind the scenes to be able to offer the activities that we have been able to.

In addition, to date, every leader has funded the projects that they provide to your boys.  Every leader has taken time to get trained.  They attend meetings to plan activities.  They spend time researching activities.  They strive to do their best while teaching your boys to do their best.  No one in the pack is paid - everyone is a VOLUNTEER.  Without volunteers, this Pack would not go.

Please take some time this holiday season to say "Thank You" to your Pack leaders.  If you would be willing to help in 2012, the Pack leaders would certainly be grateful.  If more adults would help out, it would help the Pack run easier.  THANK YOU to:

Larry R. - our fearless Cubmaster
Larry is responsible to run the Pack meetings and to help the leaders out where help is needed.  Larry, along with Andrew, are senior leaders in our Pack.  Without Larry and Andrew, this Pack would not even exist.  Thank you Larry!

Andrew R. - Bear Den leader and Popcorn Kernel
Andrew, along with Larry, is a senior leader of our Pack.  We leaders tend to look to Andrew to make final decisions and to keep this pack running.  Andrew is the man with the key and the one who stepped up to being the Popcorn Kernel when the rest of us said "um, thanks - but no!"  Andrew, you do a lot for our Pack, and we want to say "Thank you!"  And to your wife, Megan R. - "Thank you!" for all the behind the scenes work that you do to help the Pack out.

Katie C. - Interim Tiger Den Leader and Finance Officer
Katie has stepped into the Tiger Den Leader role until we can find an official Tiger Den Leader because she wants to see the Pack grow.  Katie, we appreciate your commitment to the Pack.  As for her other position of handling Pack Finances - all we can say is "Thank you!  Thank You!  Thank You!" for taking on a job that none of the rest of us wanted to take on.

Rob C. - Wolf Den Leader
Our Pack is grateful that Rob decided to be the Wolf Den Leader.  Even before he chose to be a leader, Rob was always willing to help out at meetings and at Cub Scout Day Camp.  Here's a fun little tidbit that you may not know about Rob - he has earned the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scout program - Rob earned his Eagle Scout Award when he was a Scout. Thank you Rob!

Christopher B. - Webelos Co-Leader
This is Christopher's second year as a co-leader.  Last year he was a Bear Den leader.  We appreciate Christopher's help in planning this year's program and in working with Holy Family church to schedule meeting dates.  And, of course, I (Renee) thank you for helping out with the Webelos Den.  Thank you Christopher!

Bob C. - Committee Chairman and Handyman Extraordinaire
Bob is responsible to run leadership meetings and a whole bunch of other behind-the-scenes stuff.  He also helps his wife, Renee, with Webelos planning and prep.  If you ever need a stop watch, a last-minute way to run an electricity experiment because you forgot to bring a wire (did you know a gum wrapper really works?!), or need a pencil sharpened without a pencil sharpener in sight - Bob is your go-to-guy.  Thank you, Bob, for being the "handyman" of the Pack!

Renee C. - Webelos Leader and Pack Blogger
This is Renee's 2nd year as a Den leader.  Renee also spends time researching things for the Pack, she created and edits the Pack website and sends out reminder e-mails from the Pack e-mail.  It's kind of weird to write "Thank You" to myself - but here it goes.  Thanks Renee!  :o)
